Stuck out like a sore thumb at Garciaparra Baseball Group metrics day. Ortega had a cannon in the outfield with great momentum towards the plate on throws.. event best 92mph from OF. He also had an event best pop time (1.87 seconds) & catcher velocity (78mph).. very advanced actions behind the plate for a player his age. Was up to 96mph off the bat too.. Well known player in the travel ball circuit and plays for one of the very best travel ball teams in the country, Garciaparra Baseball Group (GBG Navy).
